I said GOODBYE to my Rapunzel locks on Valentine's day and ushered in a new era of hair at Blonde Faith Salon. The colorist and stylist I worked with was Ally Feezel, whose work I found (and fell in love with) on Instagram. It turned out she knew a friend of mine and had been following me for some time, so we set up a time for me to come in so she could work her magic.
The salon looks like it's straight off of Pinterest with its mint green drawers lining the walls and the classy gold mini chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. From the minute I walked in the door to the second I walked out, I felt like the employees were genuinely interested in helping me have the best experience -- something salons sometimes lack. I never once felt like they were judging my worn out color and dead ends like I have at other salons!
Going into Blonde Faith I knew I wanted to go a few shades lighter than usual so my hair would mimic the color I had as a kid. I had NO idea, however, that I would end up chopping so many inches off the ends. I showed Ally picture after picture of what I wanted, which was a nicely blended balayage with face-framing highlights and layers. She was so patient with me and took her time while dyeing and cutting my hair. Since I was a little hesitant about going shorter we took it one step at a time. I attribute her patience with my feeling so comfortable with taking off the length. I can't get enough of my new shorter hair!
I hadn't cut or colored my hair since June, which definitely shows in the photo on the left. My ends were dead and my color was brassy, but Ally did a great job of still keeping my natural warm tones in my hair on the right. The shine and bounce my hair has after the cut and color is another testament to the quality of work done at Blonde Faith Salon -- my hair doesn't feel brittle or dry in the slightest.
If you're interested in booking an appointment with Ally, you can contact her here. Blonde Faith Salon is open daily Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m and Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (which is great if you have a busy schedule like me!) Ally shares fun tips and trends on her blog, Beauty & the Blonde, where you can view her portfolio and bio as well.
I'm loving my new 'do and can confidently say I've found my salon in Austin. Blonde Faith Salon, thank you for a fabulous experience... I will DEFINITELY be back!
