Okay fine, it wasn't Champagne. It was a never ending supply of Moscow Mules and I was happier than I'd ever been.
I'm talking about my recent trip to Rosemary Beach for Thanksgiving, where I was able to spend time with my family, sip on some yummy drinks in the sand and -- my favorite thing! -- shoot a few new outfits with my sister. This was one of my favorite little pairings, since chambray and brown leather are two basics in my wardrobe.
It was a bit sunnier in Florida than it currently is in Texas, so this outfit was just perfect for Thanksgiving festivities! I realized one week prior to takeoff that my Vince Camuto boots were in my closet back in Houston and I was overjoyed to see them sitting on my bed at the beach house after a long day of travel. Thanks, mom!
I'm not huge on winter clothes, but I have always been a fan of pairing tall boots with socks and a dress or skirt. I think it's an uber-feminine look and it makes me feel so girly and cute! I like to layer big sweaters over my dresses as well, kind of a cross between Madewell and Urban Outfitters in my mind.
These Vince Camuto boots hold a special place in my heart, and here's why:
Last winter, my sister and I were boots shopping in the Woodlands. I was having no luck, but when she showed me the pair she found -- these very Vince Camutos -- I knew they were made to be worn by me, myself and I! It turned out the store didn't have her size, but they had mine... and the rest is history.
Am I sorry? Maybe a little. Do I regret it? Definitely not.
My number one tip for pairing tall boots with dresses in the winter is to pick a pair of knee-high socks that are just a shade lighter or a shade darker than your boots. You want to accentuate your dress, not your socks (unless they're super cool, extraordinary socks.)
I'm also excited to announce my recent adoption to the ShopStyle family! I am now able to pick products from hundreds of brands and link them to my posts so that you can shop similar styles to what I'm wearing in my posts. I'll try and include things from different price points for you guys, so you have options to browse! Go ahead and check it out by clicking the items below!
