I only made it out of bed at 12:30pm thanks to a cold, but my visit to East Austin Succulents with my girls made it a bit more bearable. I've often heard great things about this little succulent farm located a few minutes east of I-35, but never got the chance to see it until today. My sister and I are both succulent-lovers so we dragged my good friend with us to see what the buzz is about.
Let me be the first to say it: East Austin Succulents is, in fact, just as cool as you hear. Not only do they have a full outdoor garden of succulents, but they also have an indoor greenhouse with rows upon rows of the little guys. Pricing typically goes like this:
2" pots are $2.50 // 4" pots are $5.00 // 6" pots are $10.00
A few special kinds of succulents or pots with multiple different succulents planted run a bit more expensive, but are marked separately and easy to pick out. They also offer vases and rocks you can purchase separately or have them plant for an additional fee of $3-5. Overall, it's pretty cheap and affordable (which makes it a great place to pick up gifts.)
My sister completely made fun of me for wearing flannel because she said I looked like a succulent farmer, but I was just happy to finally be wearing my North Face puffy vest! Luckily it wasn't too cold out today and I didn't have to bundle up. The flannel is from Urban Outfitters, but I just went to I Luv Vintage for the first time and they have a fabulous selection of flannels as well.
